"You know there's goin' to be trouble."

"There's always trouble where Captain Jack goes."

Jack flashed them a wide, gold-toothed grin.

"At least, he does leave me eye alone."

Jack nodded.

Jack scowled at Pintel. His silent scowl encompassed Ragetti as well as the other Pirate agreed, "When we're not fighting 'im."

"If I may, gentlemen -- "

"This here's a private conversation -- "

"Yeah. 'Tween me an' Pintel to determine which one o' you Captain's we're goin' with."

"I was just goin' to point out, that two fine Pirates such as yerselves hardly need a Captain. Ye need a ship, granted, but ye know, if I had two such fine, sea-faring Pirates as yerselves on me crew an' gained a second ship, I'd be hard placed as to which one o' ye tae put in charge o' that second vessel."

"Captain o' me own ship?" Ragetti asked; Pintel stared at Jack.

"I don't see why not." Jack waved a ringed hand through the salty air. "Ye'd certainly be grand masters o' yer own ship an' crew, given th' chance."

"I don't know if I'd wanna be Captain. Too much trouble, havin' to order everybody around an' see we all get our pieces an' goin' down wit' th' ship an' what all."

Jack wrapped an arm around Ragetti's shoulders. "Then we'd make Ragetti here th' Captain, an' ye his First Mate."

Pintel brightened. "First Mate Pintel. Got a nice ring t' it."

"It does, doesn't it?" Jack grinned. "Captain Ragetti sounds rather nice too, don't ye think?"

"Aye, it does!"

Jack beamed at the foolish Pirates he'd just taken from Barbossa. He'd lose them, too, he was sure, when they got their own ship. They'd never mutiny on him by themselves, but Jack was sure during the first week they had their ship, they'd run her aground.

The End
